Trash and recycling will be collected AT THE CURB once each week. All residents of the City of Orrville will be serviced on THURSDAYS. Please place wheeled cans, bags and bundles at curbside by 7 am, but not before 6 pm the prior evening. Curbside refers to that portion of right of way adjacent to the paved or traveled city roadway.
Please see the attached brochure for additional details regarding preparing your trash, large items, paint disposal, prohibited items, and yard waste.
IF YOU MOVE, please leave your wheeled trash and recycling cans at the house you are leaving. Each trash and recycling can has a serial number stamped on the front of the can, and each can is assigned to a specific address. If cans are lost, Kimbles may want to invoice the property owner to replace them.
LARGE ITEMS: Kimbles will pick up large items including furniture, appliances, mattresses, etc. on your normal trash day. Large items are NOT picked up by the compacting truck; however, the drivers make a list and will pick up your large item with a different truck. An exception to this rule is any appliance including freon (i.e. freezer, refrigerator, air conditioner, etc.) as freon is considered a hazardous material.
MATTRESSES AND BOX SPRINGS: It is now mandatory that all mattresses, box springs, and upholstered furniture be wrapped in plastic due to possible bed bug infestation. City Hall is selling plastic mattresses bags for $6.00 King/Queen size and $4.00 for Full/Twin size, or you can use/purchase your own plastic for this use.
MISSED TRASH: If your trash or recycling is missed, please contact City Hall at 330-684-5000. If Kimbles are still in town on Thursday, they may be able to circle back around to pick up what they've missed. If they have completed their work in town on Thursday, you will need to wait until the following week for pickup. Kimbles are no longer in town on Fridays to pick up missed locations.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: The following holidays will be observed by Kimbles: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a weekday before or on your collection day, your trash will be collected one day late. If the holiday falls after your collection day or on a weekend, your pickup schedule will not be affected.
Customers who have signed up for electric service through Orrville Utilities and who reside within the City limits are automatically enrolled in trash pickup and recycling services.
