LINEWORKER 3

The City of Orrville – Department of Public Utilities seeks applicants for a Lineworker 3 position. Line distribution work performed by this level of Line worker is carried out with the conductors energized. Positions in this class must have the skills necessary to work with all voltages including primary lines. A Lineworker 3 acts as a crew leader and participates in the training and instruction of new employees and subordinates and may serve as a Line Supervisor in his/her absence. A Lineworker 3 is the senior skill level engaged in performing journey level work and lead line installation and maintenance work. Employees at the 3 level construct and maintain all transmission, distribution and telecommunication systems and perform all phases of primary, secondary, overhead, and underground work.

The City of Orrville seeks applicants for this entry-level position. Duties involve assisting Lineworkers from the ground, keeping linework trucks stocked with parts and supplies, placing hardware on pole cross arms, climbing poles to assist Lineworkers, servicing and cleaning linework trucks and equipment.

POWER PLANT TECHNICIAN 2

     The City of Orrville – Department of Public Utilities seeks applicants for a Power Plant Technician 2.  This is skilled work in the Maintenance and Operation of high pressure steam boilers, turbines, fuel and ash systems and other equipment in an electrical power generation plant. Workers are responsible for participating in the operation of turbines and other plant equipment independently.  Positions in this class must have sufficient technical and mechanical knowledge to regularly exercise independent judgment in meeting unusual emergency conditions.  Work is involved in the skilled installation and maintenance of utility plant equipment, buildings and systems.  Work at this level involves troubleshooting and repairing equipment either alone or with the aid of other individuals.

Power Plant Technician 2 Information and Application

 

LAB TECHNICIAN

     The City of Orrville - Department of Utilities seeks applicants for a full-time Lab Technician at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Pay range is $24.21 - $30.26. Duties/Responsibilities involve a wide variety of Wastewater Laboratory analysis and associated duties.  Work includes setting and picking up portable samplers at industrial sites, picking up samples at the wastewater plant and at various stream sampling sites.   Analysis includes pH, total solids, ammonia, BOD, CBOD, and various other analyses.  Work will also include some driving to collect samples or deliver them to outside labs, general lab and glassware cleaning.
