Rehm Performing Arts: The Rehm Gazebo bears the name of Leonard and Dorothy Neff Rehm, whom graciously made a bequest to the park to be used at the City's discretion. At that time, it was felt by Mayor Howard Wade and Safety-Service Director Peter Guster that a performing arts pavilion was needed in the community. A planning committee was formed, and they researched several outdoor amphitheater type constructions already in existence. The total cost of the pavilion was $147,000 with funds coming from the initial donation of $35,000 from the Rehm’s and the remaining funds paid for by the City through its capital fund. The Rehm Performing Arts Gazebo was officially dedicated on July 3, 1987. It has served as a location for many summer weddings, as a theater stage, a podium for speeches, and every summer it serves as the location for free concerts in the park on Thursday evenings. Originally, concerts at the park were paid for with 40% of the funds obtained through Music Performance Trust Funds, and the remaining 60% of the fees coming from donations. However over the last several years, the summer concerts have been entirely funded through donations from businesses, industries, organizations, and individuals. Rehm Performing Arts Gazebo may be rented through City Hall, Phone: 330-684-5000. If you wish to make a donation, please mail your check to the Performing Arts Fund, 207 North Main Street, Orrville OH 44667.
